Senior Commercial Manager - Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane

As a Senior Commercial Manager, you’ll take responsibility for leading commercial strategy, supporting major transport infrastructure delivery, and managing contractual and commercial processes to support project success. You’ll play a key role in providing commercial leadership across complex projects while working closely with delivery teams and stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead contractual, claims and commercial management for major transport infrastructure projects
  • Prepare and manage commercial reporting, contract administration and compliance documentation
  • Work across project delivery phases, supporting risk management, financial reporting and stakeholder coordination

We are seeking an experienced Executive Assistant to provide high‑level support to our Chief Operating Officer (COO) in a fast‑paced, technically driven engineering and construction environment.

 

This role is suited to an EA who understands how civil and construction projects operate and is confident supporting senior leaders working across multiple complex programs.

 

Reporting directly to the COO, you will act as a trusted right hand, managing day‑to‑day executive support while interfacing closely with engineers, project managers, clients and external stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • High‑level diary and inbox management for the COO
  • Coordination of meetings, workshops, site briefings and travel
  • Preparation of executive correspondence, reports and presentations
  • Supporting project and operational governance, reporting and approvals
  • Assisting with tender submissions, bids and proposals (document control, formatting)
  • Managing confidential and commercially sensitive information
  • Liaising with internal project teams and external stakeholders
  • Providing broader executive and operational support as required

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Director to Lead three high‑performing commercial teams across major infrastructure projects.

CJC is a specialist commercial, contracts, and engineering consultancy supporting Australia’s most significant transport and infrastructure programs. As we continue to grow, we’re appointing a Commercial Director to oversee our core commercial service lines and shape the next phase of CJC’s evolution.

 

Reporting to the executive team, you will lead three specialist groups:

  1. Transactions & Advisory: Procurement, commercial advisory, transactions, PPPs
  2. Secondment & Consulting: Embedded commercial specialists, contract administration, project consulting
  3. Claims & Disputes: Claims strategy, delay & disruption, dispute advisory

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and unify commercial teams under a cohesive strategy aligned with CJC’s growth objectives.
  • Develop CJC’s commercial framework, methodologies, and service delivery standards.
  • Contribute to business planning and national growth strategy
  • lead all commercial and contractual oversight across the business.
  • Ensure best‑practice approaches to contract management, claims strategy, risk management, and dispute resolution.
  • Oversee the quality, accuracy, and consistency of commercial deliverables across all teams.
  • Manage and mentor senior leaders across Transactions & Advisory, Secondment & Consulting, and Claims & Disputes.
  • Oversee resource planning, capability development, and recruitment strategies.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
  • Strengthen CJC’s presence with public and private sector clients.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex commercial matters and high‑value negotiations.
  • Build long-term client relationships and identify opportunities for service expansion.
  • Oversee portfolio financial performance, forecasts, and reporting.
  • Drive quality assurance and continuous improvement across all commercial activities.
  • Support bids, proposals, and commercial inputs for major tenders.
