We are seeking a highly experienced Marine Engineering Specialist to join a growing infrastructure advisory team delivering complex port and maritime projects across Australia.
This is a senior, technically focused role suited to an experienced professional with strong civil or marine engineering foundations, deep operational port experience, and the ability to act as a trusted advisor to clients across planning, delivery and asset management environments.
Position Summary:
As the Marine Engineering Specialist, you will provide senior level technical advice across port, marine and landside infrastructure assets. You will work closely with port authorities, terminal operators, logistics providers and government stakeholders on projects spanning planning, feasibility, delivery and ongoing operations.
This role is hands on and advisory in nature, supporting clients through all stages of infrastructure development while ensuring operational continuity and long-term asset performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide senior technical advice on port and marine infrastructure including berths, wharves, marine structures, pavements and landside interfaces
- Review engineering designs, drawings, specifications and technical reports
- Contribute to feasibility studies, options assessments, business cases and constructability reviews
- Apply civil and marine engineering principles within live, operational port environments
- Support client side project delivery from planning through construction and commissioning
- Provide technical oversight during construction including staging, access and operational continuity
- Support asset management activities including condition assessments, lifecycle planning and capital works prioritisation
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across ports, terminals and government
- Contribute technical input to tenders, proposals and business development activities
- Act as a trusted technical advisor and mentor within the wider technical team

About You
You are a senior technical professional who enjoys being close to complex infrastructure projects and solving practical challenges in operational environments. You bring sound judgement, strong communication skills and the credibility to advise senior stakeholders with confidence.
You will bring:
- 10 plus years’ experience in ports, marine infrastructure, logistics or heavy civil environments
- Strong technical background in civil or marine engineering
- Demonstrated experience working within Australian port or maritime operations
- Proven involvement in infrastructure project delivery on the client or consultancy side
- Experience in asset management, lifecycle planning or infrastructure maintenance
- Ability to contribute to business development through technical expertise and client relationships
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
