Our Story
CJC has grown substantially from a one-man operation in 2011 to a global leader in civil and structural engineering today. With over 50 employees worldwide, we have managed to tackle some of the most complex engineering projects. Our journey thus far is built on expertise, collaboration and a commitment to delivering exceptional projects.
2011 - Where it all began
Founder Colin Calder has spent nearly 30 years traveling the world for work. His Civil Engineering career began in Scotland, but it was in 1995, after moving to Hong Kong, that his passion for international projects grew.
2014 - It Started With One
Colin represented CJC Management solo during the WestConnex 1A tender assessment in Sydney. While CJC was a one-man operation at the time, that was soon to change.
2015 - Old Friends, New Beginnings
CJC Management was brought on to assist with Sydney’s Northwest Rail project. Colin reconnected with Jonathan Davies from the UK and Craig Stoddart in Sydney. With shared goals, the trio set up their first office in Chifley Towers.
2017 - Extending Services
The success of projects like WestConnex 1A and 1B enabled CJC Management to expand its services, offering constructability reviews, technical analysis, and strategic advice in project design, delivery, and management.
2018 - Major Milestones
In the following two years, CJC Management worked on high-profile projects like Sydney Metro, Western Harbour Tunnel, and Osbourne Naval Shipyard in Adelaide, solidifying its industry presence.
2019 - Strengthening our Network
CJC continues to grow its network by hosting clients at events like the Melbourne Cup, which remains a key tradition. The team also attends awards and presents at conferences, creating new business opportunities.
2021 - Seizing Growth
We expanded nationwide with new offices in Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Wollongong. As demand for commercial advice grew, we formalized this service by establishing CJC Commercial.
2022 - Going Global
From modest beginnings, CJC now employs over 50 people worldwide and continues to expand, with new offices in the US, Middle East and the UK. Our success is driven by the dedication of our team and the ongoing support of our clients.
2024 - Expanding Horizons
The business continues to grow and be at the forefront of innovation. We launch our highly-sought-after Digital Construction service, revolutionasing the way clients envision projects from inception through to completion.
