We are seeking an experienced Commercial Director to lead three high‑performing commercial teams across major infrastructure projects. As we continue to grow, we’re appointing a Commercial Director to oversee our core commercial service lines and shape the next phase of CJC’s evolution.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the executive team, you will lead three specialist groups:

• Team A – Transactions & Advisory:
  Procurement, commercial advisory, transactions, PPPs

• Team B – Secondment & Consulting:
  Embedded commercial specialists, contract administration, project consulting

• Team C – Claims & Disputes:
  Claims strategy, delay & disruption, dispute advisory

What You’ll Do:

Strategic Leadership

• Lead and unify commercial teams under a cohesive strategy aligned with CJC’s growth objectives.
• Develop CJC’s commercial framework, methodologies, and service delivery standards.
• Contribute to business planning and national growth strategy

Commercial Governance

• Lead all commercial and contractual oversight across the business.
• Ensure best‑practice approaches to contract management, claims strategy, risk management, and dispute resolution.
• Oversee the quality, accuracy, and consistency of commercial deliverables across all teams.

Operations & Team Management

• Manage and mentor senior leaders across Transactions & Advisory, Secondment & Consulting, and Claims & Disputes.
• Oversee resource planning, capability development, and recruitment strategies.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.

Client & Stakeholder Relationships

• Strengthen CJC’s presence with public and private sector clients.
• Act as an escalation point for complex commercial matters and high‑value negotiations.
• Build long-term client relationships and identify opportunities for service expansion.

Project & Business Performance

• Oversee portfolio financial performance, forecasts, and reporting.
• Drive quality assurance and continuous improvement across all commercial activities.
• Support bids, proposals, and commercial inputs for major tenders.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Previous experience as a Commercial Director or Commercial Manager specialising in major infrastructure or engineering projects.
• Demonstrated experience across at least two of the following areas, ideally all three:
• Commercial advisory & transactions
• Contract administration / commercial secondment services
• Claims, disputes, delay & disruption
• Strong understanding of complex commercial contracts, procurement frameworks, and relevant legislation.
• Expertise in managing Principal–Contractor relationships, PPP models, and high‑value negotiations.
• Proven ability to lead and grow multi‑disciplinary teams.
