Overview

Bourke Airport is a Council‑owned and operated aerodrome located in north‑west New South Wales, supporting regional connectivity, emergency services and essential community access.

To inform future operational planning and asset management needs in 2022/23, a visual condition assessment of key airfield pavements was undertaken to identify pavement condition and  observable defects. In 2025  Bourke Shire Council secured funding to  undertake strengthening and resealing of the main runway (RWY 05-23), apron and taxiways, to accommodate larger and heavier aircraft
