Muswellbrook Rail Loop Stage 2

Project lifecycle

We offer services to improve business performance by providing expert advice on all phases of a project lifecycle, from initiation to finalisation

Scope

Muswellbrook’s existing rail infrastructure is currently located on land south of Wybong Road. CJC has been engaged to construct the approved rail spur, rail loop, conveyor, and rail load-out facility and associated services.

Another scope of the work includes a relocation of the Hunter River water supply pump station, water pipeline and associated electricity supply that follows the current rail spur alignment.

Finally,  a demolition and removal of redundant, temporary infrastructure once the new infrastructure has been commissioned and is fully operational is required.

CJC Role

CJC was engaged to provide the Design Site Representative role as part of the Construction Phase Services for the designer AECOM. This involved co-ordination of on site services between the mine project manager, designer and main contractors Daracon and FCS.

The role included design house support and inspection activities including managing and responding to requests for information and resolving construction non-conformances as well as rapidly responding to site based design requests. The works involved construction of rail embankments and cutting, viaduct and bridge construction, access road construction and construction of materials handing facilities including overland conveyor and train load out structures.
