CJC Management - Central West Pumped Hydro

Overview

The Central West Pumped Hydro ECI involved design, planning and pricing the construction of a 325MW electrical generation and storage facility, with the ability to generate 2,600MWh of energy and provide power to more than 153,000 homes.​

The project included the design of access roads and water supply infrastructure, upper and lower reservoirs, penstock and powerhouse and transmission line connection.​

Development of site water strategy and construction methodology, technical and market analysis of reservoir lining systems and providing input to the project Environmental Impact Statement.

CJC’s Role

CJC was involved in the ECI to optimise design, provide value engineering solutions; develop efficient work staging and sequencing, evaluate and value project risk, develop and refine the EPC program, and provide a total project cost. This included testing and refining the powerhouse design, the penstock design, and the zoned dam embankment composition of the upper reservoir, analysis of geotechnical information, dam embankment construction methodology incorporating necessary dam safety measures during construction.​
