M6 Extension Stage 1

Project lifecycle

We offer services to improve business performance by providing expert advice on all phases of a project lifecycle, from initiation to finalisation

Scope

The M6 Extension Stage 1 project will provide a motorway standard link between the New M5 at Arncliffe and the existing M1 Princes Motorway at Loftus. It will connect St George, Sutherland Shire and the Illawarra regions to the Sydney Motorway network.

The 3.8km section provides the critical link to the major gateways of Sydney Airport and Port Botany, reinforcing the national importance of the new motorway.

The project will also provide an Active Transport Corridor (ATC) for pedestrians and cyclists between Bestic Street and Scarborough Park North, through the existing reserved M6 corridor. It will maintain and enhance connectivity to local and regional destinations, including Bicentennial Park, C A Redmond Fields and areas of open space around Muddy Creek.

CJC role

CJC was engaged to provide constructability and utilities advice for the tender design before issue to the preferred tender teams. Further advice was provided to cost estimators and construction programmers.
