Sydney Gateway Program Peer Review

Project lifecycle

We offer services to improve business performance by providing expert advice on all phases of a project lifecycle, from initiation to finalisation

Scope

The Sydney Gateway Project comprises new and upgraded road and rail infrastructure located at the Sydney Airport and Port Botany precincts. This new infrastructure will improve freight capacity on the Port Botany rail line and link WestConnex to Sydney Airport and Port Botany; Australia’s two largest international gateways.

CJC role

CJC was engaged to undertake a peer review of the reference design and program as well as provide expert bridge construction advice.

RMS (now TfNSW) engaged CJC to undertake a peer review of the Sydney Gateway master program. The scope of the review included:

1) General review of the functionality and suitability of the program for the planning approval and procurement phase/s of the project. 2) General review of assumptions made for the program basis. 3)Detailed review of the construction methods, durations and sequence that form the level 3 activities and, in particular, the bridge structure components, with a focus on elements of higher program risk.

The review focuses primarily on construction of civil and bridge works and the interfaces with relevant stakeholders.
